JAMB Direct Entry Form, Registration Of Foreign Candidates To Commence July 10

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will begin the sale of the 2017 Direct Entry forms and registration of foreign candidates on July 10.

JAMB’s Head of Public Relations, Fabian Benjamin, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bwari, FCT, on Monday.

Mr. Benjamin said the process of registration for the Direct Entry was spelt out in the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

He said candidates for Direct Entry were expected to have Advanced Level, Diploma or its equivalent, while foreign candidates must possess proof of residency abroad.

On the scheduled date, Monday, April 17, 2017, the couple set out with the babies at about 10.30am aboard a commuter vehicle, which took off from the Lafia motor park en-route Makurdi.

The National Universities Commission, NUC on Monday 3rd July 2017, gave a recognition letter to an Ogun State Government delegation, granting the approval for the upgrading of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, to the Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology, MAUTECH.

According to Punch, The NUC Executive Secretary, Prof Abubakar Rasheed, who delivered the approval letter to the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, at the NUC Headquarters, Abuja, said the MAUTECH was now the 45th state university and the 85th public university in the country.

Update!! Naira Appreciates Slightly Against Dollar (See Conversion Rate)

The Naira on Tuesday slightly appreciated against the dollar at the parallel market.

Naira gained two points to exchange at N365 to the dollar.

Pound sterling and the Euro traded at N465 and N412 respectively.

Trading at the interbank market saw the Naira closed officially at N305.95 to the dollar, while the pound sterling and the Euro closed at N397.12 and N349.22, respectively.

The appreciation is believed to be response to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) last Wednesday’s intervention in various segments of the inter-bank market to the tune of $195 million.

A breakdown revealed that authorised dealers in the wholesale window segment received a $100 million offer from the bank, while the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and invisibles windows were allocated the sums of $50 million and $45 million respectively.

Joy Bishara , 20, and Lydia Pogu , 19, two of the Chibok schoolgirls who were able to escape from boko Haram in 2014, met with US President Donald Trump at the White House Wednesday, June 28. The duo and several other girls who escaped moved to the United States to complete school.

With the help of a Christian nonprofit, others, they were able to attend boarding school in Virginia. Bishara and Pogu transferred their senior year and recently graduated from Canyonville Christian Academy. They will be attending Southeastern University in Florida in the fall.
